a little about my story

I believe being photographed should be an experience that makes you feel vibrant, alive, happy and maybe even a little bit magical.

My journey behind the camera began in 1994 when two dear friends, Max and Mary, asked me to photograph their wedding. I was 21, working with film, and completely captivated by the experience. That day changed my life. It inspired me to go back to school and earn a degree in fine art photography—setting the course for a career that has spanned more than two decades.

I launched my photography business in 2001 in San Francisco, and for over 10 years, I had the honor of capturing hundreds of weddings throughout California and a few dreamy destinations. In 2012, I pivoted toward personal brand photography, creating bespoke images for women entrepreneurs—authors, coaches, speakers, designers, health professionals, and more. From New York to Sydney to Paris and countless places in between, I photographed over 80 clients a year across 14 countries and 28 U.S. states. Each shoot was deeply personal, creative, and empowering.

In 2023, I made the decision to slow down and reconnect with nature and family. I moved to the Big Island to help tend our family’s 11-acre organic coffee, mango and cacao farm and to bring my love of photography to this incredible island community. I still capture upwards of 30 Brand Shoots on the Mainland annually and now, I also focus on family portraits and beach sessions in Kona and across the Big Island—creating joyful, relaxed, and meaningful photo experiences for visitors and locals alike.

My approach to photography is all about presence and connection. I aim to create an experience that feels fun, easy, and full of genuine emotion. My clients often tell me their session didn’t feel like a “photo shoot” at all—they are delightfully surprised that the whole experience is more fun than they ever could have imagined. I want you to see yourself in your photos and feel seen, beautiful, and deeply grateful for the people you love.
